Remember this?
Remember how much you complained, well some of you were complaining, apparently 2D cut out sprites in a 3D world were just not right, and it wasn’t a remake if I was re-using bits and pieces from the original game. Har har har.
Well here’s my proposed solution:
Right now there is no AI and the way in which the animations are handled is buggy at best. They’re dumber than even actual zombies and a little too super natural with their movement but it’s coming along nicely. The system I use lets me run through hundreds of zombies with minimal processing power, considering ZAMN at most would have like 10 zombies on screen and this can handle well over a hundred I might try experimenting with other gameplay ideas, I have a tonne of ideas for expanding on the core ZAMN experience.
Fun fact, the models I am using here were going to be used in a ZAMN inspired game called ‘Zombies Ate My Nation’ by some group known as Sidus. Of course that was eons ago so no idea where they are with their little project, they do have a new ‘little’ project though.
Oh and finally, this is pretty cool:
Still waiting for the movie XD
What is it with people who start ZAMN-related projects and give up midway through?
Oh! And if you’re interested, here’s a ‘demo’ of ZAMN, earlier build, not very proud of it actually but has the level editor and a few levels. You must have the latest version of DirectX and PhysX, if you get a dll missing error (particularly d3dx935.dll) then go to Microsofts website and download their DirectX web installer which will find and install the missing DLLs.

Hey. I hope you don’t give up on this project. I would love to play it. Better yet, I’d love to see it on XBLA. You are doing a great job right now. Keep it up!
